In 2008, the cities of Olive Hill
and Grayson made an initial investment in funding for a public library for the
citizens of Carter County. The cities were joined by the Carter County Fiscal
Court and additionally the Kentucky Department of Libraries and Archives.
These four groups support a public fixture that was for a time absent. In
December of 2008 the doors of both the Olive Hill and Grayson branches open to
welcoming public. The citizens of Carter County owe a debt of appreciation
to the tireless volunteers who kept the Olive Hill library open from the
mid-1980's until 2008. Please join us in empowering all citizens with the
tools needed for education and enhancement.
